Take Part in the 2026 NH Senior Games 

Registration for the 2026 New Hampshire Senior Games opened on March 1, offering 19 individual sports (including a new event, Bocce) and one team sport, basketball. Open to older adults across the state, the Games also serve as a qualifier for the 2027 National Senior Games in Tulsa, OK.

Virtual Summit: Building “Longevity Ready” Communities 

 
The Tri-State Learning Collaborative on Aging is hosting a virtual summit on April 14 and April 16, exploring what it takes for communities, systems, and organizations to become “longevity ready.” Using framework from the Milken Institute, participants will examine promising practices, the broader ecosystem needed to support healthy aging, and actions individuals and organizations can take.

Discounted Accessible Phones Available in NH 

 
Future In Sight, in partnership with the Governor’s Commission on Disability, offers a NH Telecommunications Equipment Assistance Program (NH-TEAP) to help residents with vision, hearing, speech, or mobility challenges access affordable, accessible phones, plus training for emergency services. Qualified individuals can receive devices at up to 50% off, with some fully covered.

BAAS New Home & Community-Based Resource Tool 

 
The New Hampshire Bureau of Adult and Aging Services has released a new Home & Community-Based Resource and Referral Tool focused on reducing food insecurity and improving access to health and social supports for adults, older adults, and people with disabilities across NH. The tool aims to connect residents and providers with a broader range of community resources that support overall wellbeing.

Long-Term Care Costs Rising Faster Than Incomes 

 
A new report from AARP finds the cost of long-term services and supports, including home care, assisted living, and nursing homes, rose nearly 50% between 2019 and 2024, outpacing income growth for many Americans. The analysis shows wide cost differences across states and highlights growing affordability challenges for middle-income households.

NH Department of Safety ‘Contact Person Notification Program’  

 
Offered by the NH Department of Safety, the Contact Person Notification Program provides a resource for people with certain disabilities that may contribute to an inability to effectively communicate in an encounter with law enforcement. The program provides a means by which the participating person, or legal guardian, may voluntarily provide information to the Department of Safety for entry into the Contact Person Notification Program database, and be accessible to law enforcement when a query is made on the participating person.

Champion Your Health  

 
Each May, the Administration for Community Living leads the national observance of Older Americans Month (OAM). The 2026 theme, “Champion Your Health,” highlights prevention, wellness, self-management, and the role of caregivers and community partnerships in supporting healthy aging.
Access logos, sample materials, and activity ideas and help spread the word.
