As a follow-up to our initial outreach in February, we’re continuing to gather input through a second survey. If you haven’t had a chance to participate yet, we encourage you to take a moment to share your perspective. This brief survey includes just two quick questions aimed at deepening our understanding of the needs and challenges facing older adults across the state.

Join the Next Coffee and Caregiving Conversations 

The NH Alliance for Healthy Aging (NHAHA) Caregiving Workgroup is hosting its next Coffee and Caregiving Conversation on Friday, May 22, from 8:30–10:00 AM. Held at the Foundation for Healthy Communities in Concord, you’ll enjoy meaningful discussion, connection, and an opportunity for additional networking.

RISE Fall Course Proposals Open 

Rivier Institute for Senior Education (RISE) is accepting proposals for their Fall 2026 courses and anyone can facilitate, whether your expertise is in crafts, academics, or another area of interest. Submit a course title and brief description by April 20 for the opportunity to lead a single-session, 5-week, or 10-week course, either in-person or online.
Submit your proposal for an in-person or online course, or explore past offerings to inspire new ideas.

Free Scam Prevention Training for Older Adults 

In honor of National Financial Literacy Month, the NH Department of Justice Elder Abuse and Financial Exploitation Unit is offering free “Protect Your Wallet, Protect Yourself” sessions in Rochester and Manchester. These 90-minute presentations can help older adults, caregivers, and community members recognize scams, protect personal information, and take action if targeted. Session dates are April 17 (Rochester), April 20 (Manchester), and April 22 (Rochester).

New Report Released: New Hampshire Prepares 10-Year Multi-Sector Plan for Aging 

The New Hampshire State Commission on Aging has released Informing a Multi-Sector Plan for Aging: Community Engagement, a new report that lays the groundwork for AgeWellNH, a proposed 10-year Multi-Sector Plan for Aging. The report reflects input from more than 1,400 residents and professionals across all ten counties and identifies statewide priorities to support healthy aging, strengthen the workforce, and build resilient, longevity-ready communities.

Veterans Literary Program 

The New Hampshire Writers’ Project has introduced the Colonel Melvin Weston Rowell Literary Project for Veterans, a new initiative designed to elevate and support veteran voices through in-person and online literary opportunities. The program’s Veterans Out Loud series debuted at the NH Veterans Home in February, fostering reflection and connection through author readings and discussion.

NH HCBS Workforce Community of Practice 

Led by the NH Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Direct Care Workforce Strategies Center, the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Community of Practice is a monthly, 90-minute virtual convening that brings together executive directors, HR professionals, workforce development staff, and program leaders to move from “crisis mode” to collaborative workforce solutions. Each session includes strategy spotlights, peer success stories, and facilitated discussions on recruitment, retention, and workforce development.
Typically held on the third Wednesday of each month from 2:00–3:30 PM, this month’s session was rescheduled to Wednesday, April 29.
