Early registration is now open for the NH Alliance for Healthy Aging (NHAHA) Quarterly Meeting on Thursday, September 24, at Northeast Delta Dental in Concord, NH. Join us from 9:00–11:30 AM, with optional networking beginning at 8:45 AM and at lunch from 11:30 until noon. We’re planning another great morning of learning, collaboration, and connection.

61 Years of Medicare & Medicaid: What It Means for New Hampshire
July 30 marked the 61st anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid, two programs that have provided vital health coverage for generations of Americans. To mark the occasion, the New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute took a closer look at who relies on these programs today in NH, and how recent federal and state policy changes could affect health coverage in the years ahead.
Memory Care Kits at Concord Public Library
The Concord Public Library has introduced new Memory Care Kits to support individuals living with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and memory loss, along with their caregivers. Each themed kit includes hands-on activities, books, music, conversation prompts, and caregiver resources designed to encourage connection, reminiscence, and meaningful engagement.

Webinar: The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act
The Initiative for Housing Policy and Practice at Saint Anselm College, Housing Action NH, NH Housing, and the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund will host a free webinar on August 13 examining the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act. Panelists will discuss the law’s key provisions, potential implications for New Hampshire’s housing challenges, and opportunities for state and local stakeholders.

Falls Prevention Awareness Week Is September 21–25
Falls Prevention Awareness Week is a nationwide campaign led by the National Council on Aging (NCOA), dedicated to helping older adults reduce their risk of falls and maintain their independence. A free toolkit is available with ready-to-use social media graphics, educational materials, event planning resources, and advocacy tools to help communities raise awareness and promote falls prevention year-round.
New Research Highlights Challenges Facing Older Adults
New research from the Urban Institute finds that many older adults struggled to meet basic needs in 2025, with one in four older adults with disabilities reporting unmet personal assistance needs and more than one-third experiencing hardship related to food, housing, or health care. The findings underscore the potential impact of proposed cuts to Medicaid and other safety net programs on older adults’ health and independence.

Health at Home Challenge Phase 1 Winners Announced
The Administration for Community Living has announced the Phase 1 winners of its Health at Home Challenge, which supports advanced community care networks that partner with health care organizations to integrate health care and community-based services for people who are dually eligible, or nearly eligible, for Medicare and Medicaid. AgeSpan, based in Massachusetts, was selected as one of the winners for its regional network connecting residents across all six New England states, including New Hampshire, to coordinated care through partnerships with health plans and health care organizations.
