New Resource for Older Adult Brain Health    

 
Dr. Raymond Suarez, medical director of the Senior Behavioral Health Unit at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, has launched a new website, Cognitive Caring, to provide evidence-based resources and support for older adults and their families. The site offers information on psychiatry, memory and dementia care, and guidance for caregivers navigating the challenges of aging and cognitive health.

Webinar: How ADUs and Other Alternatives Can Boost Housing Supply in NH

New Hampshire Housing is holding a webinar on April 2 to highlight findings from their new guide to accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and how they fit into the broader housing landscape. Participants will also hear insights on housing production, manufactured homes, market conditions, and emerging strategies communities are considering to address housing needs. The panel will include experts from New Hampshire Housing, Southern New Hampshire Planning Commission, and New Hampshire Community Loan Fund.

Protein Needs Change with Age 

 
Protein plays a key role in maintaining muscle, strength, and overall health as we age, helping reduce the risk of falls and frailty. While the basic guideline is about 0.36 grams per pound of body weight daily, many older adults may benefit from slightly higher amounts, ideally spread across meals with a mix of plant and animal sources.

Voter Party Affiliation Deadline  

 
Tuesday, June 2 is the last day registered voters in New Hampshire may change their party affiliation prior to the September 8, 2026 State Primary Election. Registered voters can confirm their current party affiliation through the State of New Hampshire Voter Look Up system and may change their affiliation with the clerk of the town or city where they live.

DHHS Looks to Strengthen, Expand 988 and Crisis Communications

 
Leaders from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and partner organizations are working to strengthen the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline so that it is as widely recognized as 911, while improving access to timely, personalized care. With growing demand, they highlight the need for a strong workforce, expanded mobile crisis response, and better data to ensure residents can get help wherever they are.
