Last Call! The NHAHA Quarterly Meeting is This Week!

Today is the deadline to register in advance for our September 24 Quarterly Meeting, and we’ll be talking about some timely topics you won’t want to miss! Lily Wellington of the NH Commission on Aging will share a presentation on the Community Transportation Needs Assessment findings, plus Jennifer Chisholm of the NH Coalition to End Homelessness will discuss the growing issue of homelessness among older adults. You’ll also hear the latest NHAHA updates, with plenty of time to connect and network with your peers.

Making Eligibility Easier for Long-Term Care Medicaid

 
Applying for Long-Term Care (LTC) Medicaid can be complicated. New Hampshire DHHS has launched a new set ofMaking Eligibility Easier (MEE) resources designed to make the process clearer, easier to understand, and less overwhelming for applicants, families, providers, and community partners.   • Restoring Rhythm: Finding Peace When Life Feels Out of Sync
Brooks Coaching is hosting a free Zoom webinar, Restoring Rhythm: Finding Peace When Life Feels Out of Sync, on October 7 from 12:00 – 1:00 PM with family caregiver coach Bonnie Brooks Dudley. The event will be focused on recognizing when life feels out of sync and finding ways to respond with greater intention and peace.
  • Guiding Hands: Caregiver Support Through Life’s Final Journey
Granite VNA is hosting a free program on October 17 at the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord to help caregivers navigate the end-of-life journey with greater clarity and confidence. Participants will explore compassionate care, communication, stress management, honoring loved ones, and caring for their own well-being.
  • Making a Difference with Pet Therapy
Do you and your dog have a special way of bringing comfort to others? Home Health & Hospice Care is seeking pet therapy teams to bring comfort, connection, and joy to hospice patients and families throughout southern New Hampshire. Fall volunteer training begins September 24.

Anticipatory grief is the experience of grieving a loss before it happens. These feelings are normal, and acknowledging them, talking openly, and asking for support can help you navigate a difficult time.
