Do You Care Flyer Available for Distribution
Rochester, NH – The NH Alliance for Healthy Aging (NHAHA) is proud to announce the distribution in mid-June of a caregiver self-identification flyer that outlines typical caregiving tasks and available resources to all libraries statewide. The goal of this newly updated flyer is to prioritize helping individuals recognize their caregiving roles and understand the support available to them that can improve their well-being and confidence in their role.
This flyer is the work of the Caregiver Workgroup arm of NHAHA which strives to strengthen support for family caregivers across New Hampshire, improving their well-being and the care they provide every day. NHAHA estimates that there are more than 281,000 caregivers in New Hampshire and each year they provide more than $2.8 billion in unpaid care and supportive services for loved ones. The NHAHA workgroup creates connections between caregivers, resources, and the systems that support them. The workgroup is comprised of representatives from AARP, Brooks Coaching, Caregiving Essentials, LLC, Cornerstone VNA, Seacoast Dementia Hub, Easter Seals, Foundation for Healthy Communities, Granite VNA, Oasis Senior Advisor, Referral, Education, Assistance Program (REAP), The NH Alliance for Healthy Living, The NH Department of Health and Human Services, and the UNH Center on Aging and Community Living.
The flyer supports one of the workgroup’s key priorities: increasing caregiver self-identification and awareness. The workgroup is focused on helping individuals recognize their caregiving roles and better understand the resources and support available to them, which can enhance their well-being and confidence as caregivers. In addition to this effort, the workgroup is advancing initiatives to promote caregiver-friendly workplaces and serving as a convener on caregiving issues across the state.
As part of these ongoing efforts, the workgroup is hosting a Coffee and Caregiving meeting on August 28, 2026 from 8:30am – 10:00am at the Foundation for Healthy Communities, 125 Airport Road, Concord, NH. This forum is designed to foster open dialogue among organizations and individuals who support caregivers in New Hampshire, creating opportunities to share knowledge, coordinate efforts, and connect participants with valuable resources, all are welcome to attend.

The New Hampshire Alliance for Healthy Aging (NHAHA) is a statewide coalition of more than 600 partners working to support the health and well-being of older adults across New Hampshire. Since 2016, NHAHA has brought together leaders from healthcare, social services, academia, public policy, and community organizations, along with older adults and their families, to strengthen how the state supports aging. NHAHA operates using a collective impact model grounded in collaboration, shared goals, and coordinated action. The work is led by volunteer members who serve on the Steering Committee, workgroups, and other committees. These groups help set priorities, share knowledge, and move initiatives forward. A backbone team supports this effort by coordinating activities, convening partners, and keeping work aligned. To learn more, visit https://nhaha.info/priorities-and-committees/caregiving/
