Long-Term Care Costs Rising Faster Than Incomes
A new report from AARP finds the cost of long-term services and supports, including home care, assisted living, and nursing homes, rose nearly 50% between 2019 and 2024, outpacing income growth for many Americans. The analysis shows wide cost differences across states and highlights growing affordability challenges for middle-income households.
NH Department of Safety ‘Contact Person Notification Program’
Offered by the NH Department of Safety, the Contact Person Notification Program provides a resource for people with certain disabilities that may contribute to an inability to effectively communicate in an encounter with law enforcement. The program provides a means by which the participating person, or legal guardian, may voluntarily provide information to the Department of Safety for entry into the Contact Person Notification Program database, and be accessible to law enforcement when a query is made on the participating person.
Champion Your Health
Each May, the Administration for Community Living leads the national observance of Older Americans Month (OAM). The 2026 theme, “Champion Your Health,” highlights prevention, wellness, self-management, and the role of caregivers and community partnerships in supporting healthy aging.
