Early Registration Now Open: NHAHA March Quarterly Meeting 

Early registration is now open for the NH Alliance for Healthy Aging’s Quarterly Meeting on Tuesday, March 24 at Northeast Delta Dental in Concord, NH. This in-person gathering will take place from 9:00-11:30 AM, with optional networking starting at 8:45 as well as from 11:30-noon. Highlights include an engaging presentation on Northeast Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (NDHHS); an update on the NHAHA planning process, where you can join in the opportunity to help shape NHAHA’s direction moving forward; and more.

Tax Help Available Through Mid-April 

 
Eligible NH residents can have their taxes prepared for free through mid-April at AARP Foundation Tax-Aide and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites. Depending on the program, IRS-trained volunteers may assist adults age 50+ with low to moderate incomes, people with disabilities, limited English-speaking taxpayers, or others who qualify. Visit NHTaxHelp.org or call 211 to find a site, review eligibility, and schedule an appointment.
And, looking ahead to the 2026 tax year, the deadline for filing most property tax exemptions and credits – including for older adults, veterans, and disabled people – with local municipalities is April 15 of the tax year for which the exemption is claimed.Check with your town for specific eligibility requirements and application details.

The analysis highlights fiscal constraints, demographic trends, and potential challenges ahead as key revenue sources face limits.

NISC Programs of Excellence Nominations 

 
The National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC) is now accepting nominations for its 2026 Programs of Excellence Awards, recognizing innovative, impactful programs offered by senior centers nationwide across nine expanded categories. Eligible programs from 2025 can be submitted through February 27, with selected honorees recognized in May and featured in national clearinghouses and events.

Webinar: Addressing Age and Homelessness in Disaster Planning  

 
The National Health Care for the Homeless Council and the National Center for Equitable Care for Elders are hosting a webinar on February 26 from 1:00–2:30 PM that explores gaps in disaster preparedness affecting homeless older adults. Participants will gain practical strategies to improve communication, outreach, and community partnerships that strengthen access to critical resources before, during, and after disasters.

Funding Opportunity: Dementia Care Innovation Grants  

The State Alzheimer’s Research Support Center (StARS) is accepting applications for its Dementia Care Innovation Grants. Up to four projects will receive up to $110,000 each to support research that improves the delivery, evaluation, or accessibility of dementia care at the state level. Eligible applicants include state and local governments, nonprofits, academic institutions, and tribal governments.
Letters of intent are due March 12 at 5:00 PM. 

Summer Training Institute Applications Closing Soon 

Applications will be closing soon for the Advancing Workforce Analysis and Research for Dementia (AWARD) Network Summer Training Institute, which will be held July 20-24 in San Francisco, CA. The goal of the Summer Institute is to train early-stage researchers, such as doctoral candidates working on their dissertation, post-doctoral scholars, and assistant professors, in understanding concepts underlying research on the health and long-term care workforce that serves people living with dementia (PLWD) and developing approaches to conducting and disseminating such research.
