Applications close on March 4 for HealthForce NH’s 2026 Innovation Challenge. With awards of up to $100,000, the multi-stage competition supports creative, sustainable solutions that improve recruitment, retention, equity, and long-term workforce impact. The Challenge is open to individuals, organizations, and partnerships across industries.

  • Advance Care Planning Facilitator Training 
Advance your skills in leading meaningful conversations about advance directives in this four-part virtual training held Mondays, March 2, 9, 16, and 23 from noon to 1:15 PM. Designed for clinicians and allied professionals, the interactive series covers statutory requirements, activating Durable Power of Attorney, and strategies to honor patient care wishes, with 5.0 CE credits available for nurses, physicians, social workers, and other professionals. Registration fee is $99.

  • Home Safety: Preventing Falls 
Elliot Health System is holding an in-person fall prevention workshop on Thursday, March 19 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in Manchester. Rehab experts from The Elliot VNA will guide participants through practical strategies for preventing falls, recognizing common hazards, and responding safely if a fall occurs.

  • Hospice Volunteer Training  
Home Healthcare, Hospice & Community Services will be holding Hospice Volunteer Training on Fridays, March 13 through April 10 from 9 am to 12 pm. Training is offered free of charge and covers topics that prepare a volunteer to assist patients who are experiencing a terminal illness and provide support to their families with empathy and care.

Report Finds Low Retirement Savings for U.S. Workers  

 
A new report shows the median US worker has $955 saved for retirement, reflecting limited access to employer-sponsored plans and ongoing challenges in long-term savings. As more older adults continue working and Social Security remains a critical income source, experts emphasize the need for greater retirement security and clearer planning.

Slam the Scam Day 

 
On March 5, take part in Slam the Scam Day by using tools from the Social Security Administration (SSA) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to recognize imposters, including Social Security-related scams, and stop scammers from stealing your money and personal information.
Learn about common tactics and how to recognize the signs; spread the word; and report suspicious activity.  

Explore Pre-Conference Workshops Offered at On Aging 2026   

 
Heading to this year’s On Aging conference? A number of pre-conference, half-day workshops will take place on Monday, April 20. An additional registration fee is required to attend. You can sign up for pre-conference workshops when registering for On Aging 2026.
