New FDA-Approved Parkinson’s Treatment Offers Hope, But Barriers Remain  
The FDA has approved Exablate Neuro, a noninvasive focused ultrasound device that targets key brain areas to reduce tremors, stiffness, and freezing in people with advanced Parkinson’s disease. While the treatment is available now at some centers, there are challenges including limited provider experience and pending insurance coverage.

The NH Commission on Aging is leading a statewide effort to better understand transportation challenges, especially for older adults, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. Share your experience by taking this short survey. Your input will help guide future transportation planning and policy in NH.
RSV Vaccines Show Strong Protection for Older Adults, Especially Those 75+, According to Recent Studies  
Two large studies found that a single dose of RSV vaccine can significantly reduce the risk of hospitalization in older adults, with 83% effectiveness reported in Denmark and 58% in the US. The vaccines appear most effective for adults aged 75 and older, and protection lasted through two respiratory seasons in many cases. People with weakened immune systems or heart disease may not get as much benefit and could need booster doses sooner, according to the study.

A new issue brief from KFF explores how State Health Insurance Assistance Programs (SHIPs) help millions of Medicare beneficiaries navigate increasingly complex coverage decisions. With demand for one-on-one, unbiased counseling growing, SHIPs remain a vital, yet underfunded, resource for older adults and their families.

Survey Finds 90% of Older Workers Experience Age Discrimination 
A recent Resume Now survey found that 9 in 10 workers over 50 have faced ageism at work, with many reporting disrespect, pay disparities, and missed opportunities due to their age. The findings highlight ongoing workplace bias and underscore the need for stronger age-inclusive practices.
