It’s Falls Prevention Week: How to Support Your Community 
Falls Prevention Week is underway, running from September 22–26, which highlights the importance of reducing fall risks for older adults and people with disabilities. Falls are the leading cause of injury among adults 65+, but they are preventable with proven strategies like exercise, home safety modifications, and regular health checkups.

Advance Directives Facilitator Training: Virtual Workshop Series 
The Foundation for Healthy Communities is offering a four-part virtual training for health care professionals who facilitate conversations leading to the completion of Advance Directives. This interactive series will review New Hampshire’s statutory requirements, technical and practical components, and strategies for meaningful, person-centered discussions. Live sessions run Mondays, October 20–November 10, 2025, from 12:00–1:15 PM.

The Role of Physical Activity in Cancer Care and Recovery 
Is it OK to exercise during cancer treatment? According to the American Cancer Society, moderate exercise can improve physical functioning, reduce depression and fatigue, and enhance overall quality of life. While some health conditions or treatments may require extra caution, studies show that physically active cancer patients and survivors often have a lower risk of recurrence and improved survival compared to those who are inactive.
