We want you to volunteer!
Did you know that more than 250,000 people in NH are aged 65 or older? Approximately 20% of older adults don’t drive. That’s a lot of people who can’t get themselves to their doctor’s office or to the grocery store!
Fortunately, 80% of NH communities have a Volunteer Driver Program (VDP) looking for drivers just like you! By volunteering to drive, you can help older neighbors in your area stay healthy, independent, and engaged with their community.

DRIVING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE: VOLUNTEER DRIVER PROGRAMS IN NEW HAMPSHIRE
If you’re not familiar with Volunteer Driver Programs, that’s okay! Volunteer Driver Programs (VDP’s) help people maintain their health and independence by improving their access to essential services. Most VDP’s serve older adults and individuals with disabilities, often providing transportation to critical appointments, vaccine and booster access, or basic needs. These riders may not have family members, friends, or neighbors who are able to transport them as often as needed and therefore rely on volunteer drivers.
Click on your county on this map to find a VDP near you. The program listings provide contact information to request a follow-up email or phone call from a VDP in your area.
