NH Property Tax Relief Program Open for Applications Through June 30
New Hampshire’s Low and Moderate Income Homeowners Property Tax Relief Program is accepting applications through June 30, 2026, providing income-based assistance to eligible homeowners earning under $37,000 (individuals) or $47,000 (couples or heads of household). A recent NH Fiscal Policy Institute (NHFPI) analysis highlights ongoing underutilization of the program, noting that many eligible homeowners, including older adults, people with disabilities, and veterans, may not be aware of available relief.
Apply by June 30, 2026 online through Granite Tax Connect or download and print the form and send it by mail to the NH Department of Revenue Administration.
Protecting Seniors with Dementia from Scams and Financial Fraud
Scammers steal an estimated $7 billion from older adults each year, with individuals living with dementia facing even greater risk due to changes in memory and decision-making that can make fraud harder to detect. The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America offers practical strategies for caregivers to reduce risk and strengthen everyday protections:
S — Solidify good security practices, such as reminders about not sharing sensitive information
A — Apply blocking tools for calls, texts, emails, and online threats
F — Find someone to help monitor bank and credit activity for unusual transactions
E — Establish financial safeguards like account alerts and credit freezes
National Challenge to Grow Inclusive Community Gardens
The Administration for Community Living (ACL) has launched Phase 1 of its Cultivating Connected Communities Challenge to expand inclusive community garden initiatives that promote healthy eating, wellness, and accessibility for older adults and people with disabilities. Building on USDA’s The People’s Garden initiative, the challenge will fund accessible upgrades and adaptive gardening programs designed to reduce social isolation, improve food access, and support long-term community health. An informational webinar will be held on June 25.
